Yes, as per UGC guidelines, all registered Ph.D. scholars must successfully complete a mandatory coursework phase during the first year, covering Research Methodology, Biostatistics, and specialized subject papers, before formal thesis registration.
Candidates must hold an M.Sc. in Clinical Embryology, Biotechnology, Zoology, or a related Life Sciences field with at least 55% marks (50% for reserved categories). They must clear the university entrance test (GDGU-PET) or have qualified UGC-NET/JRF/GATE, followed by an interview.
